trex Machine Supervisor Controlling Management

A System for Measuring and Controlling Machine Performance

The Power to Manage Your Production Processes at the PLC Level

Elevating control and flexibility on your shop floor to the next level, the trex MSC (Machine Supervisor Controlling) Module License enables you to actively intervene in your production processes by establishing two-way communication with your automation systems. With this module, trex transforms from a mere monitoring platform into a powerful control tool that directs the behavior of your machines in real time at the PLC level.

Key Capabilities and Detailed Functions

1. Tag-Based Write-Back

trex has the ability to write data directly to specific data tags within your PLCs. This capability ensures:
• Instant Parameter Updates: In situations like a product changeover, a raw material batch revision, or a quality control requirement, relevant parameters such as temperature, pressure, speed, or RPM are instantly transmitted to the machine without any manual intervention.
• Upper-Level System Compliance: Decisions from high-level systems like MES or ERP are directly translated to the machine level, guaranteeing that your shop floor machines comply with these decisions in real time.

2. Smart Job Loading and Completion Management

With this module, every work order, along with all its detailed production information, is sent directly to the PLC. This results in:
• Efficient Workflow: When a work order begins, the machine automatically understands which product to produce, with which batch number, and using which specific parameters.
• Flawless Data Recording: When the work order is completed, closing data such as the number of parts produced, production time, and raw material consumed are automatically sent back to the trex system. This eliminates errors that typically arise from manual data entry.

3. Automated Downtime Management

Downtime information is now processed directly at the PLC level, independent of operator intervention. This ensures you get more accurate and complete data:
• Precise Timestamps: The start and end times of downtime are recorded with sub-second accuracy, increasing the reliability of your downtime analysis reports.
• Root Cause Analysis: Operators can enter the reason for downtime (e.g., material shortage, breakdown, maintenance) through the system. Downtime records, enriched automatically with this data, simplify root cause analysis.

4. Production Parameter Revision Information

Changes (revisions) to production parameters are centrally managed and securely distributed to all machines. This ensures:
• Consistency Guarantee: Parameter differences that might occur across different shifts or with different operators are eliminated, ensuring machines always operate with the most current and correct settings.
• Full Traceability: The entire revision history—including which parameter change was made for which product, on what date, and who approved it—is recorded.

Value for Your Business

• Real-Time Control: Manual interventions and delays are eliminated. Production parameters are updated instantly, minimizing production errors and waste.

• Data Consistency and Reliability: Work order, downtime, and revision data appear with the same accuracy and format across all systems, from the shop floor to the management level. This enhances the reliability of your reporting and decision-making processes.

• Operational Flexibility: trex is not just a passive monitoring platform that reads data; it becomes an active management tool capable of sending instructions to the machine, managing workflows, and actively directing production on the shop floor.

• Comprehensive Traceability: For every work order, the parameters used, changes made, and how the process was completed are all recorded. This allows for full transparency of processes, simplifying auditing and quality control procedures.

The trex MSC Module License offers a unique ability to actively direct your production line at the machine level, rather than just reporting on it, helping you achieve your Industry 4.0 goals.
